Every innovation begins with an idea – and intensive development work. Drainage expert Dallmer is the perfect example of a company which is passionate about practising and promoting creativity. The result: countless groundbreaking new products which have been instrumental in shaping the turnaround from bathrooms as functional supporting acts to havens in the home. One example here is our DallFlex system for level-access showers. In 2013, this system revolutionised the world of shower channels by separating the channels from the drains.
Maximum choice and flexibility
Nor has the company rested on its laurels – Dallmer recently presented the latest development to its DallFlex system at the ISH trade fair. Two new shower channels have been added to the system, meaning there are now more than 100 possible combinations. Its new shower channels for flush-in-floor installation are CeraFloor Individual and CeraFrame Individual. No fewer than nine different Dallmer shower channels can now be combined with a drain body – offering more diversity and flexibility than any other drainage system on the market.
Committed to innovation
“Today, people are interested in sustainable concepts rather than single product features. It’s not simply a matter of launching a new product; people want thoughtful solutions which architects, planners, installers and consumers can fully exploit,” explains engineer Johannes Dallmer. Dallmer has proactively taken this approach for many years. Founded as an engraving workshop in 1913, the company turned its attention to drainage technology in the 1960s and began to focus on plumbing as its core business area. It was Helmuth Dallmer who revolutionised the plumbing industry around this time when he developed the plastic U-bend. More groundbreaking innovations followed, including designer gratings – which triggered a global trend when they were introduced in 1988. With the DallFlex system and click-on sealing sleeves, the latest advances in drainage have brought sealing for level-access showers to a new level of reliability and safety.
Practical solutions
“If Dallmer did the things people expect, we wouldn’t be innovative. We strive to find meaningful ways to break with tradition and overcome the boundaries of technology,” says CEO Harry Bauermeister, explaining the driving force that motivates the company to continue reaching new heights in their development work. “But in everything we do, our customers come first. We listen closely to their concerns because these reveal the latest, practical challenges we need to overcome. As a result, we’re able to develop optimum solutions – even for little, everyday problems. We also continue to refine and develop existing products from our range so that they conform to the latest standards and requirements,” Bauermeister, a graduate engineer, reports.
DallFlex as a pioneer in the industry
With the launch of the DallFlex system, various basic prerequisites have considerably improved for planners, architects, plumbers and home occupants. For the first time, it became possible to separate the drain from the shower channel thanks to Dallmer’s innovative drainage system. Another innovation which was developed around the same time was the click-on sealing sleeve, which can be mounted effortlessly not only on floor drains but also on the wall. Thanks to this sealing sleeve, the drainage solution conforms to DIN 18534 standards. The system has also made cleaning shower channels easier than ever before, thanks to the fact that no tools are required to remove the trap insert. Dirt can then simply be flushed out of the insert, the shower channel wiped clean and the trap insert replaced – done. Last but not least, DallFlex enables customers for the first time ever to mount different shower channels on a single platform. Combined, these advantages have served to make Dallmer a leading innovator in the field of drain outlets and shower channels to this day – and open the door to a virtually infinite number of design options.
Spotlight on the future
We can
all look forward to further innovative solutions – Dallmer’s R&D
department is constantly working on new, forward-looking products to shape and
revolutionise the drainage industry. Expressed in numbers: in recent years, the
company has invested more than ten million euros in its own future, ensuring it
grows and develops in each and every area. These include advanced training
programmes for employees as well as investments in state-of-the-art machinery
and technology. “We consider both aspects to be of fundamental importance,”
confirms Yvonne Dallmer. “In this way, we ensure we have forward-looking
expertise at our disposal – and can continue to offer customers innovative
‘Made in Germany’ quality.”
