Sound insulation is increasingly important, particularly in high-end residential buildings, where it directly affects quality of life. With its new soundproof drains, Dallmer offers home-owners, builders and investors technical certainty that well exceeds current standards.
Shower channels and numerous drainage systems from Dallmer for level-access showers are now particularly quiet. Testing by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics confirms that the increased sound insulation requirements acc. to DIN 4109 and VDI 4100 have been met in full and that, in fact, the measured values fall well below the permitted limit values. The integrated soundproofing pad not only reduces the operational noises of the drains, but also considerably increases footfall insulation.
Drain flow noises from floor drains are covered in DIN 4109 (Sound insulation in buildings). The standard specifies the maximum installation sound level. The minimum requirement is 30 dB, while the new increased requirements specify 25 dB. The VDI directive 4100 differentiates between sound insulation levels and specifies SST I (30 dB) and SST II (25 dB), as well as the particularly strict requirements of SST III with 20 dB.
The measurements of the Fraunhofer Institute showed that the noise level of the Dallmer drainage systems with soundproofing pad fell well below these limit values. The CeraLine shower channel (20 dB) and the CeraNiveau short channel (20 dB) have the lowest noise emissions and meet the highest requirements of SST III. This also applies to the CeraDrain 48 drain, which has the same design as the CeraNiveau housing. The TistoPlan drains (21 dB) and the CeraFundo shower underlay with CIRCOPlan drain (22 dB) also meet the requirements for increased sound insulation: the measured values fall significantly below the permitted noise levels acc. to DIN 4109/VDI 4100.
Implementation of the Dallmer soundproofing pad also considerably reduces the footfall sound in level-access showers. According to the test report of the Fraunhofer Institute, the CeraLine shower channel and the CeraNiveau, CeraDrain 48 and TistoPlan drains all meet the requirements of the increased sound insulation. The noise behaviour of a shower area was measured and evaluated using a drainage system built in a screed structure. The outstanding footfall insulation was even achieved with a minimum floor structure of 100 mm and a concrete surface of just 150 mm.
Good sound insulation has a major impact on life quality. With its tested drainage systems, Dallmer offers a wide range of options to equip level-access showers and barrier-free sanitary areas with sound insulation. Dallmer also offers a range of practical solutions for the special requirements of residential buildings, hotels and care facilities and is able to meet special design expectations.
